Do you ever wake up in the morning feeling grateful, or even announcing out loud that you are thankful? Most of us do not. Most of us wake up reluctantly, thinking about everything we have to get done that day, feeling overwhelmed and under-appreciated. So what if we started to be thankful for just one thing every time we wake up in the morning? And then find something else to be thankful for before we go to sleep at night? What will happen?
We can look at a variety of religions and even life coaches and see that the principle of a thankful heart is widely promoted. Christianity and the Bible tell us to be thankful in all things. We should give God praise in even the most difficult times. The inspirational video called "The Secret" that promises to change lives through the "law of attraction" also suggests to wake up in the morning and start to proclaim all the things you are thankful for before your feet even touch the floor.
So, why are we supposed be grateful in the middle of a bad day? How are we supposed to say thank-you when our car breaks down? Try it...there is something that happens...and if you begin to practice it regularly you will see that even your attitude and thinking will begin to change.
As a Christian I thank God for things big and small, in bad times and in good...when I forget and get distracted I find myself feeling stressed more easily, I begin to complain and snap more readily and I get overwhelmed and down on myself. When I remember to be thankful good things happen, bad things tend to work out, I feel less pressured, I am more motivated and I feel happier overall. I am always reminded about the goodness of God and that He is good ALL the time. That means that even in something I perceive as being negative must have a nugget of goodness in it somewhere. Perhaps I didn't get that job because it would have made me miserable in some way, or maybe there is a better one waiting for me elsewhere. Maybe I went through that terrible thing with that person because it will help shape me into the person I am meant to become. Either way whatever the purpose I am thankful. Being thankful has transformed my life into one that is so much more positive.
A thankful heart is one of the best things a person can develop. It turns situations around. When we are thankful for what we have, more will come. We reap what we sow, when we are sppreciative, others will also appreciate us. Thankfulness is contagious. It creates an atmosphere that is more positive and makes you a more likable and pleasant person to be around. We must fight the urge to complain which only spreads negativity and turn every complaint into an experience that we can be thankful for it will impact your workplace, your hame and everyone around you in a positive manner.
So if you're feeling low, like things never seem to go your way, get up and say thank-you, search for things to be thankful for. Even when something bad happens you can find something to be grateful for, whether it is a lesson that you learned from the experience, or someone you met because of it. Learn to thank God, thank others, thank yourself...be thankful...learn to develop a thankful heart.
THANK-YOU

I just want to THANK YOU for this post, I woke up this morning complaining and murmuring about people in my life, my church and family. But I felt the Holy Spirit began to urge me to be more THANKUL AND LESS MURMURING! So I began to watch Creflo Dollar and he began to talk about being THANKFUL, so once again. I give God THANKS for waking me up this morning, and allowing me a chance to change my nature!
for all those out there that think in a negative way. this will change the whole way you think and make everything seem real and lasting in your life. thank you Lexy for reminding us that we are in control of what it is we do. how it affects everything and everybody around us.
